BGPA ACACIA & BOTANICAL TOILETS FRASERS LAWN FACILITIES UPGRADE BGPA CHANGING PLACES FACILITY

Project Value: $600K
Architect: PlanE

Western Projects have been engaged on multiple projects or the Botanic Garden Parks Authority at Kings Park. Over the past few years we have completed upgrades to the Acacia and Botanical Toilets to include installation of new fittings and fixtures, refresh of existing architectural finishes and upgrades to meet current UAT requirements.

Our works have included upgrade to the The Fraser Lawn Facilities, an architecturally significant building, constructed in the early 1960’s . Western Projects were engaged to reconstruct the façade of the building and re-fit the facility with new fittings and fixtures. The existing counter- levered, waved concrete roof was left intact during structural modification works were undertaken below. The limestone façade was rebuilt to replicate the original design with meticulous precision.

Western Projects also recently completed the installation of a new Changing Places Facility, a specially designed amenities suite to cater for adults with severe and profound disabilities. This project involved the installation of adult change table and hoist to Changing Places Standards, providing an excellent facility to the WA community.

With Kings Park welcoming more than 6 million visitors per year, Western Projects completed all projects with minimal disruption to BGPA operations and Park visitors.
