Western Projects were engaged by NS Projects to facilitate the Design and Construction of the ACP Mitigation Project to Building 300 on campus at Curtin University.
Working as the lead consultant, Western Projects engaged a team of professional consultants to develop a fully compliant replacement cladding system, certified to meet the updated NCC codes (2019 amendment).
To complete the design and certification process, we engaged the same consultant team from the Building 216 project. Building 300 ACP replacement required further assessment and revision by the structural facade engineer due to the unexpected brickwork substructure found during panel demolition works. Further investigation into fixing details were undertaken by the engineer to specify a compliant installation method of the top hats to the brickwork substructure.
Scaffold towers and EWPs were utilised to safely undertake the replacement cladding works and maintain building access throughout the project. This project was undertaken in line with the programme and budget, delivering another successful ACP mitigation project for Curtin University.
