UWA REID LIBRARY

Project Value: $6.5M
Architect: Schin Architects

Western Projects worked closely with Schin Architects and NS Projects to complete an impressive refurbishment of Reid Library. Engaged to provide ECI Services, Western Projects offered constructability feedback throughout the design phase and negotiated costs in an open book manor with the procurement team.

The extremely detailed Architectural design was a complex, fast-paced project. Complete in an occupied building over numerous stages, the result speaks for itself. With a value of $6.5 million, the project was complete within the construction programme and on budget.

The refurbishment has been a global success, winning the People’s Choice category in the Shaw Contract Design Awards ahead of 497 other entries from 37 countries. Reid Library also went on to receive a ‘highly commended’ in the Australian Library Design Awards and a commendation in the Australian Institute of Architects Awards.

The Western Projects team are honoured to have been involved in the project, and we are very proud of the opportunity to contributed to The University of Western Australia.
